Assemblies of God World Missions Field Representatives
Sherri and I are appointed as AGWM missionaries. We serve as field representatives for the Assemblies of God World Missions. We have been asked to be available where needed across the entire country. Duties also include serving as facilitator for the Missions Awareness Team, which is a part of US Relations. Other responsibilities include helping develop and establish individual district’s missions programs and initiatives. This assignment includes organizing and conducting district-wide School of Missions for pastors and local missions committees.
My primary assignments are:
· Facilitator of the Missions Awareness Team
· Serving districts with church and pastoral training, FlashPoint training, developing “fast track” churches, etc.
· Serving local churches with developing missions strategies and Missions Convention training.
· Working with new missionaries and veteran missionaries in coaching, developing a Timothy relationship, and budget development.
In the planning stages of the School of Missions we explained to the District Missions Director how to establish a district ministry called “Fast Track” churches. Each church agrees to four things:
• To add each newly appointed district missionary to their monthly support
• To add all other district missionaries as funds become available
• To conduct an annual missions convention in their church
• To support the district missions ministry at the level of other district missionaries.
FlashPoint is proving to be very effective for those pastors who have participated. Most churches experience a significant growth in their missions giving over the previous year after having gone through FlashPoint training.
Developing missions strategies and training for Missions Conventions is proving to be very effective is strengthening local church missions ministries and growing the missions giving in the local church. This growth is usually followed by general income growth.
The results are remarkable as the Missions Awareness Team works with the new missionaries. It is always a thrill to see the transformation in these young missionaries when they gain an understanding of the process and comprehend they can do it.
